Would you like your mouth feeling fresher and cleaner than ever before?

  1. Ultrasonic Scaling: At our clinic, our dental hygienist uses an ultrasonic scaler that vibrates at a very high frequency. These vibrations help to break up hard deposits like tartar, making them easier to remove. The scaler usually has a small, metal tip that is placed against the teeth. The sound waves are powerful enough to dislodge buildup but gentle on the enamel.
  2. Water Spray: As the ultrasonic scaler works, it also releases a fine mist of water to wash away loosened debris and keep the tip cool. This prevents any discomfort from heat buildup and also helps with rinsing.
  3. Manual Cleaning (if needed): After the ultrasonic portion, our hygienist uses manual scalers or curettes, to clean any remaining areas of your teeth or along the gum line.
  4. Polishing: After most of the plaque and tartar are removed, your teeth will be polished with a gritty paste to remove superficial stains, leaving a shiner, whiter and smoother surface.
  5. Fluoride Treatment (optional): Most of the patients we applied fluoride treatment to help strengthen enamel and prevent cavities.

An Ultrasonic cleaning is efficient and generally less uncomfortable than traditional hand scaling. It can also help with gum health by removing bacteria and toxins from the gums.
Having a clean mouth, especially after an ultrasonic dental cleaning, is like a breath of fresh air for your whole mouth, gums feel firmer, and you just feel more confident when you smile.
